What to expect from a cupping treatment
Cupping is a technique that can help improve your health. Cupping enhances circulation, helps to relieve pain, removes “heat” and helps to pull out toxins that may remain in the body tissues. If you think about cupping as inverse massage, this is how it works, rather than applying pressure to muscles, the suction uses pressure to pull skin, tissue and muscles upward. You will feel a tight sensation in the area where the cup is applied. Cups may be moved around or left in place for different treatments. They may remain on your body briefly or for longer amounts of time. Each treatment is unique to you on that particular day. We sometimes combine cupping withacupuncture as one treatment but it can be used as a stand alone treatment.
A treatment from the time the cups are put in place will last from 10 to 15 minutes.
